Tchoukball Coaches training gets going in Taiwan

THE PHILIPPINE TCHOUKBALL FEDERATION (PTF) COACHES FROM THE PHILIPPINES STARTED THEIR INTENSIVE TRAINING STARTING APRIL 29 UNTIL MAY 01, 2011 @ THE NAN SHIN HIGH SCHOOL IN CIAJI, TAIWAN ROC.

Ten (10) Tchoukball Coaches led Ptr Gary Visitacion, PTF President are in Taiwan right for the training. Coach Shen Zen Fang, Head Coach of the Taiwan National Team together with the best coaches in the country are heading the seminar. Taiwan is the current world tchoukball champion.

Pastor Gary Visitacion, PTF President said that “since we arrived here in Taiwan, we have been enjoying the warm hospitality of the Taiwanese people. Their culture is pretty much the same with us, food has been very awesome. Also the training is something that we need for our coaches. Learning from the best of the best coaches is already a big boost to our confidence in playing the sport.”

Pastor Visitacion is joined by our coaches from Bacolod City and Davao City. Joining him are Coaches Carlos B. Mendiola Jr., Joshua Inigo L. Delariarte, Gamaliel J. Mendiola, Danny V. Vergara, Christian James J. Mendiola, Van Israel L. Mendiola, Cindy Margarett R. Matabalan, Clarissa May M. Segura, Raymund C. Jamelo, Elvira C. Jamelo andJohn Elray C. Jamelo.

The Philippine delegation was welcomed at the FITB Headquarters in Kaoshiung, Taiwan upon arrival was Mr. Chris Huang, FITB President & officials of the Kaoshiung City Government.

The members of the delegation will also be the guests during the opening of the Republic of China National Students Tchoukball Championships which will start on May 2 in Ciaji, Taiwan. Then on May 4-5, the delegation will proceed to Taipei for another round of training before heading back to Manila on May 6-8 for a series of exhibition games against Manila teams.

RP-Davao wins 2nd place behind Singapore in the 2nd SEA Open Tchoukball Championships

THE RP-DAVAO MEN’S TCHOUKBALL TEAM COULD HAVE BROUGHT HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY AFTER GIVING TEAM SINGAPORE CROSSRUNNERS A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY. TEAM SINGAPORE SHOWED TOO MUCH EXPERIENCE AS THEY WON AGAINST TEAM PILIPINAS 37-31 IN THE 2ND SOUTHEAST ASIA OPEN TCHOUKBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM LAST APRIL 2-4, 2011.

 

Mr. Danny Vergara, team manager of the Philippine Team said that “our boys really gave their best in this tournament. I am very happy with their performance especially we won against other teams from Cambodia & host Vietnam. This is also a good tune-up game for us as we prepare for the World Tchoukball Championships this coming August, 2011 in Ferrara, Italy.”

 

The team will be coming home this Wednesday, April 6 and will pay a courtesy call to Davao City Mayor Inday Sara D. Carpio to present their trophy.

 

Ptr Gary Visitacion, PTF President said that “I am really very proud of the team. I heard they really gave their best. I look forward of welcoming them when they come back. The whole PTF organization are happy with the result, in fact I was in Bacolod City & Cebu City during the tournament having meetings with our regional associations but I was receiving updates from the team manager.”

RP-Davao Men’s Tchoukball joins 2nd Southeast Asia Open Tchoukball Championships

THE PHILIPPINE TCHOUKBALL FEDERATION (PTF) WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE UPCOMING 2ND SOUTHEAST ASIA OPEN TCHOUKBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM THIS COMING APRIL 2-4, 2011.

 

PTF in partnership with the newly organized Tchoukball Association of Davao (TAD) under Regional Director Carlos “Jun” Mendiola Jr. will be sending the RP-Davao Men’s Tchoukball Team. Head of delegation & team manager is Mr. Danny V. Vergara & Head Coach is Mr. Carlos “Jun” Mendiola Jr. Team members are Brylle Vincent T. Cuares, Gamaliel J. Mendiola, Justin Rencer V. Wee Eng, Christian James J. Mendiola, Domingo R. Surposa III, Van Israel L. Mendiola, Bonn Louie M. Arsenal & Joshua Inigo L. Delariarte.

 

Pastor Gary Visitacion, PTF President said that “we are very happy with the development of tchoukball in the country. Sending our local teams to participate in some international competition, gives them a chance to develop their skills in playing the sport. Knowing that some countries in Southeast Asia have been playing tchoukball for many years nows.”

 

Other countries participating in the prestigious tournament are powerhouse Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia & host Vietnam.

 

Coach Carlos “Jun” Mendiola Jr. said that “we look forward to this competition, the boys have been practicing very hard & they are looking forward to the tournament.”

 

RP-Davao team leaves on March 30, Wednesday for Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and will be back on April 7, 2011.

Huang, Ang, Su, Chu to attend Tchoukball C’ship in Davao; License C Coaching Seminar set

Federacion Internationale de Tchoukball’s highest official is coming to Davao as guest of honor in the 1st Philippine Open Tchoukball Championship on January 27 to 30 at the Davao City Recreation Center.
Chris Huang has confirmed his attendance to Philippine Tchoukball Association president Pastor Gary Visitacion. The The Taiwan-based sports top official will be joined also by his deputry general secreatry Jeff Ang of Singapore, Taiwan’s assistant coach Chuan Su and FITB secretary Daisy Chu.
The FITB officials are also scheduled to meet Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio and Vice Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte.
The tournament has attracted 200 coaches and athletes from Bacolod, Davao, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia who will be competing in the men’s open, women’s open and boys under-18 divisions.
Pastor Visitacion said that an FITB License C Coaching Seminar is also scheduled on January 26 to 27 and interested participants can learn and coach tchoukball after securing a license. They can call (082) 2212670, (0933)1485584 for more details.
Pastor Visitacion will also grab the opportunity to talk personally to the FITB head of their interest to host the 5th Asia Pacific Tchoukball Championship in July 2012.
“We want to aggressively promote this sport and hopefully many Filipinos will also get into tchoukball,” said Visitacion, whose association has also been recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee.
