Phoenix supports Davao athletes in Philippine National Games

Independent oil player Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. will support Davao City athletes in the Philippine National Games that will take place at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City on May 22 – 29, 2011.
Team Phoenix Davao will be composed of athletes Anthony Nerza, Michael Constantino and Arnie Macañeras of Brokenshire College, University of Mindanao’s Noemel John Lanuza and Holy Cross of Davao College’s Philip Ocon, Coach Emilio Lacanaria Jr. and Assistant Coach Mamerto Aventurado.
Anthony Nezra will join the 5,000M and 10,000M runs. Philip Ocon and Michael Constantino will see action in the 800M and 1,500M runs. Vying for the gold in shot put and discuss throw is Noemel Lanuza. Arnie Macarenas is a contender at the 3,000M, 5,000M, and 10,000M runs.
The Davao athletes expressed their gratitude to Phoenix during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn on Wednesday, May 18, as they promised to give their all for Davao and for Phoenix.
The national event will feature the games of badminton, beach volleyball, billiards, equestrian, fencing, gymnastics, judo, karate do, lawn tennis, motorcycle sports, sailing, soft tennis, swimming, taekwondo, volleyball, wall climbing, weightlifting, wind surfing, and wrestling and many more.
10,000 people are expected to witness the opening ceremonies of the comeback of the Philippine National Games on May 22. PNG was last held 15 years ago, in 1996.
