Some of the country’s top professional cyclists battle it out anew when the Gov. Amado T. Espino Cup unwraps on May 2 marking the Pista’y Dayat celebration in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
According to provincial sports coordinator Modesto Operania, the race will be exclusively for Pangasinenses.
The will be fired off here and will traverse the towns of Bugallon (Socony junction), Labrador, Sual, Alaminos City, Bani, Agno (Banganoda junction), Burgos, Dasol, Infanta, back to Dasol, Burgos, Mabini, Alaminos City taking the Don Pedro Braganza boulevard, Sual, Labrador and Lingayen via barangay Domalandan.
The race, covering 195 kilometers, will stake attractive prizes topped by a P25,000 purse for the winner.
The first and second runners-up will each receive P15,000 and P10,000, respectively. Fourth placer will pocket P7,500 and fifth P5,000.
Succeeding finishers down to 10th place to receive P4,000, P3,000, P2,000, P1,000, P750, correspondingly with also medal each.
The bikefest will be aired live over Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan, 1161 Khz AM. PR
