
THE RP-DAVAO MEN’S TCHOUKBALL TEAM COULD HAVE BROUGHT HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY AFTER GIVING TEAM SINGAPORE CROSSRUNNERS A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY. TEAM SINGAPORE SHOWED TOO MUCH EXPERIENCE AS THEY WON AGAINST TEAM PILIPINAS 37-31 IN THE 2ND SOUTHEAST ASIA OPEN TCHOUKBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM LAST APRIL 2-4, 2011.
Mr. Danny Vergara, team manager of the Philippine Team said that “our boys really gave their best in this tournament. I am very happy with their performance especially we won against other teams from Cambodia & host Vietnam. This is also a good tune-up game for us as we prepare for the World Tchoukball Championships this coming August, 2011 in Ferrara, Italy.”
The team will be coming home this Wednesday, April 6 and will pay a courtesy call to Davao City Mayor Inday Sara D. Carpio to present their trophy.
Ptr Gary Visitacion, PTF President said that “I am really very proud of the team. I heard they really gave their best. I look forward of welcoming them when they come back. The whole PTF organization are happy with the result, in fact I was in Bacolod City & Cebu City during the tournament having meetings with our regional associations but I was receiving updates from the team manager.”
Members of the team are Gamaliel Mendiola, James Christian Mendiola, Bonn Louie Arsenal, Joshua Delariarte, Van Israel Mendiola, Domingo Surposa, Brylle Vincent Cuares, Justin Vencer Wee Eng & Head Coach Carlos “Jun” Mendiola Jr.
