PVF National Referee Congress (Mindanao Edition) July 2-4, 2010, Davao City
The Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) in cooperation with the Davao Volleyball Association (DAVA) will be holding this year’s PVF National Referee Congress here in Davao City on July 2-4, 2010 At EMAR Learning Center, Matina (1st day) & at the Davao City National High School , F. Torres St., Davao City (2nd & 3rd day).
The Congress, which is being held once in every two years in Manila, will be extended to Mindanao participants this year in Davao City. The PVF would like to give chance to our referees fulfill one of the requirements to become a PVF National Referee or PVF National Referee Candidate. The Congress likewise aims to unify interpretation of rules, correct adoption of system, emphasize on exact and proper mechanics, continue to promote volleyball as a sport, and develop the young, new breed of and dynamic volleyball referees.
We will also be inviting coaches, trainers and school teachers to upgrade and refresh themselves since volleyball rules & regulations evolve almost every year. In fact new set of rules are being implemented this year and will be used in all tournaments local or international.
Participants who will pass the refereeing standards will be given accreditation and corresponding levels on their proficiencies (results on written, oral and practical examinations) at the end of the congress. The names of those who will pass will be submitted to the PVF Referee Commission (PVFRECOM) and FIVB Referee Candidate computerized list. From then on, these referees will form part of the Mindanao-based referee corps who will be tapped to officiate in any PVF and PSC sanctioned tournaments nationwide.

Each participant should be of legal age and has to meet one of the minimum requirements in order to join the Congress, as follows:
• Holder of PVF National Referee or PVF National Referee Candidate License
• Attended PAVA or PVF National Volleyball Referee Course
• Attended similar Volleyball Clinics endorsed by Local Sports Association
• Coaches/Trainers and PE teachers
A registration fee of Two Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php 2,500.00) per participant will be charged to cover the cost of the Congress which includes daily lunch and participant’s kit (Refereeing Guidelines, Case Book, Official PVF National Referee ID, and other congress paraphernalia).
Participants are required to wear proper PVF uniform for the entire duration of the Congress (Blue slacks pants, PVF Referee white polo shirt, white belt, White socks, white based rubber shoes, and FOX40 whistle). Participants are also required to bring 2 pieces 2×2 colored pictures.
