3 Davao coaches attend FIVB-PVF coaching course

Davao City sends 3 Coaches to the FIVB-PVF VOLLEYBALL COOPERATION PROGRAM (INTL COACHING COURSE LEVEL I) at Iloilo City .

The Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) hosted the FIVB-VCP (Federacion International de Volleyball-Volleyball Cooperation Program) International Coaching Course level I in Iloilo City from may 17-24, 2010. 36 Filipino participants coming from different parts of the country were selected & one coming from Afghanistan Volleyball Federation has joined the 8-gruelling days training. Top UAAP & NCAA volleyball coaches have also attended this training. In fact, the current Shakeys V-League Womens’s and UAAP Womens’ champion in the person of Coach Shaq Delos Santos also completed the course. Of the 37 participants only 28 haved passed and were awarded attestation form FIVB Coaches Commission.

Three participants coming from the Davao Volleyball Association (DAVA) have completed the 8-day rigid training for international coaches (level I). They are Mario Mojica, Henry Labio and Ron Mirasol. However, only Messrs. Mojica & Labio have received attestation or passed the practicum, written and oral test conducted by the FIVB Coach Instructor III, Mr. ZOHAIR AMMAR of Egypt . Mr. Mirasol on the other hand receives only Certificate of participation.

DAVA hopes to re-echo similar training for Volleyball coaches here in Davao City as one of their thrust in the development of the sport in the City.  They will announce very soon the activities of their year-round program.
