UMBN pair wins Santol Division title

UMBN pair wins Santol Division title

The pair of broadcaster Roy Geonzon and sports editor Jon Develos held on to an up and down round then weathered an aborted charge to win the Santol Division of the 2nd Mindanao Chairman’s Cup on July 10 at the Apo Golf and Country Club.

The Geonzon-Develos tandem halted the surging pair of sports columnist Neil Bravo and city information officer Alex Roldan in the frontside serving as the homeward nine. Just when the title remained tightly contested, Bravo suffered cramps on his second shot in the par 5 6th and fell short of the charge.

It was the first ever local tournament with a separate division for the media organized by the People Obsessed in Golf Inc. (POGI) chaired by Col.Sammy Afdal with the support of the Davao City Tourism Council and KarAsia Mitsubishi.[NJB]
