Brgy. Baliok walloped Brgy. 19-B in straight sets to rule the first district leg of the 2008 Inday Sara Women’s Volleyball Tournament, held over the weekend, at the Rizal Park.
Brgy. 5-A placed third.
Baliok advanced to the inter-district finals on Wednesday, May 7 at 8 a.m., along with Barangay Sasa, the Second District champion, and Crossing Bayabas, the Third District winner.
Sasa trounced Pandaitan, 25-14, 25-20 in the finals while Brgy.W.Aquino took the third spot after besting Brgy.Ilang, 25-16, 25-19.
Brgy.Crossing Bayabas booked the last ticket to the finals after beating Brgy.Sirawan, 25-20, 25-20 while Brgy.Tamugan whipped Brgy.Malagos, 25-20, 25-23 to settle for third place.
The awarding ceremony is scheduled at 4 p.m. with Vice Mayor Sara Z. Duterte leading the officials in the rites.
